Secession

Drawing its stature from the pieces of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and the archetypal Shaker Chair forms, The Secession Carver Chair finds its place at the head of a table or in a location best suited for a statement or accent piece. As an amalgam of both traditional craft and modern production techniques, Secession becomes a fine representation of the periods it was inspired by. Designed to be produced in turned Ash posts and spindles. Secessions back panel is a solid piece of Ash, CNC machined to a subtle curve. Its arms, also CNC machined, are finished by hand and provide a large surface area to gather wear, the tangible and symbolic representation of the subject object relationship. This representation can also be found in its traditional woven paper cord seat, which will contour to the body for optimal comfort only through the passage of time and continued investment.
